Blurb: Called on a dangerous assignment, leopard shifter Conner Vega returns to the Panama rain forest of his homeland, looking every bit the civilized male. But as a member of the most lethal of the shifter tribes, he doesn’t have a civilized bone in his body. He carries the scent of a wild animal in its prime, he bears the soul-crushing sins of past kills and he’s branded with the scars of shame inflicted by the woman he betrayed.

Isabeau Chandler is a Borneo shifter who’s never forgiven Conner–or forgotten him. The mating urge is still with her, and when she crossed Conner’s path, passions burn like wildfire. But as Conner’s mission draws Isabeau closer, another betrayal lies waiting in the shadows–and it’s the most perilous and intimate one of all.

Review: This is another good book, the male still isn’t overwhelmingly alpha, he feels that sharing his feelings are silly but he isn’t afraid to do so to put his mate at ease. I would really love to get a prequel, to see them falling in love.

The writing drags you straight into the story and doesn’t let go until the big fire fight near the end. That’s when it got rushed and a little overwhelming. It just seemed like the author tried to fit everything into a few pages so she could wrap up the book but the ending hooked me again and got really emotional.

The pace was steady for the story, teetered near the end with the fire fight, it really seemed rushed, then evened out in time for the emotional ending.

I believe I said that Burning Wild was my favorite leopard book but now that I’ve read this again, I think this may be tied for favorite and I have to wonder about Savage Nature, I feel like I have this special place in my heart for Drake, Elijah and Jeremiah.

I’m remembering how much I really enjoy and love this series.

Thank you for reading my review.
