Blurb: For as far back as she can remember, Airiana Ridell has always been aware of her extraordinary gift. She can intuit revealing and illuminating ‘patterns’ in the air around her-whether in a spray of mist, in billowing clouds, or in the dense swirls of an impenetrable fog. Her abilities led to her placement in a secret government training facility when she was a child, but everything changed after her mother was murdered.

Airiana fled the program, but she couldn’t outrun the desperate members of a shadowy cabal who want her, who need her, who will kill to get her. Kidnapped and held aboard a ship bound for dangerous seas, her only chance for rescue is Maxim Prakenskii. He has his reasons for helping her, but he isn’t about to reveal them to Airiana. Not yet. Not as the two are drawn together as moth to flame. Not when there are so many secrets yet untold that could shatter the quaint community of Sea Haven and all who reside there…

Review: This one was better than Spirit Bound but I would have liked some one-on-one time with the couple without them being surrounded or on the run. There just seemed to be way too much going on to really get a feel for the couple.

They were either resting or on the move and even when they got home, no real alone time so I couldn’t really get a sense of how they came to know each other, it was basically just them giving each other looks while they were on the run. I kind of feel like it was savior love? Someone saves you and you have this euphoric feeling like you’re in love with them.

The cover is a little better, there really isn’t a way to convey the air element so her on the ship set the tone for the story better than what it did for Spirit Bound. The pace was a little all over the place, fast and slow. There really wasn’t that much time with the sisters either.

There was a review on Spirit Bound that I read with a comment about the Drake sisters and I have to say that I agree. Aren’t the Drakes supposed to be the most powerful family or at the very least powerful enough that they should feel all of the energy that’s being used when the sisters get together? I know we’re supposed to focus on these girls right now but shouldn’t there be some interaction with them besides wondering how Jackson is going to react when they get back? Not make them almost forgotten background characters?

Thank you for reading my review.
