Blurb: Best friends since childhood, Damien and Paxton are going on a college graduation trip of a lifetime to the jungles of Peru. Their adventures along the way will culminate in a night of consuming the mind-altering drug ayahuasca – the most potent DMT based hallucinogen known to man. Will the experience expand their consciousness and change them into the men society beckons? Or will the young men’s shadowy backgrounds turn the trip so dark that it will consume them and everyone around them?

Review: This book was recommended because I reviewed Rushed, a horror story that I remember loving because it was a subtle creepy and I could feel it. The author told me that this was in the same category but how is this horror?

I prefer the subtle creepy feeling which I can only explain as that soft creepy music in a movie where you know something is about to happen but it’s just dragging it out a little bit to make you even more tense. This was not horror to me.

Of course I only stopped at 55%  but if it takes more than half the book to get to the point, I lose interest.

I don’t think this should be labeled as horror but as gore and there should also be a warning for explicit gore. My stomach churned but I still didn’t feel the horror of it.

The writing was all over the place, the detail was very sparse when it came to the characters and very, very detailed when it came to the gory stuff. Even with it spread out, I was disgusted but I was also bored.

This is a did not finish for me.

Thank you for reading my review.
