☆☆☆/5

Not really what I would call a romance book. Mainly the plot overwhelms the couples time together, not the author’s best work.

The love interest doesn’t show up until chapter 4, this is the first book so far with typos, though very, very few.

For all of her education and smarts, Danice is very impulsive and temperamental. She should know that going to another place, not in the United States, especially full of Fae that she has no knowledge of should make her cautious but no, she just plows ahead. Different culture, magic or not, different rules.

I wouldn’t even say that there was any kind of romantic connection between the couple, beyond physical attraction. They mostly spent their time arguing over Danice going into Fae and then with Mac telling her to shut up before those Fae kill her because she can’t keep her mouth shut with her sarcasm.

There was a lot of character and world building, a lot of detail and then I felt like the main characters were reduced to minor characters. Even their intimacy wasn’t all that great. First, they hadn’t really connected beyond the physical attraction as I mentioned before so it just felt unnecessary and then the second time, it was like charging a battery. Read the book, you’ll see what I mean.

Besides my problems with this book, I did like it. There was an interesting plot and a new species that hasn’t been introduced in the last two books. I was honestly more interested in the background of the King of the Unseelie Court and the Queen of the Seelie Court instead of the main characters.

Thank you for reading my review.
