☆☆☆☆/5

This was emotional. I had to struggle not to cry in plenty of places while reading this.

Now the beginning was not what I had hoped, it jumped around through the years to get to the point the author needed to get to. I think it would have been better if it had been written as flashbacks throughout the story or if it had taken up the first two or three chapters devoted to them to really build up a connection between the characters.

Because of that, even though it was emotional, I couldn’t really feel the deep connection that was obviously there.

The writing was simple, to the point, yet it was descriptive enough to let me see what I believe the author wanted the readers to see.

It kept enough of the plot up front and center to keep it interesting and to keep me turning the pages,

When I finally did feel the connection, it felt powerful. I actually loved this book, even though I didn’t give it five stars. I gave it four because of the beginning.

It was a little repetitive in how the couple dealt with each other but everything else was written quite well.

Even the major plot twist I never saw coming, the way that came about was, I thought, brilliant. I was quite surprised at the twist and I would say that I should have seen it coming but that would be a lie. The author kept most of the focus on the major characters which was a smart choice in my book.

Very much for adults and I would highly recommend that this book be read, it’s on my favorites list for sure.

Thank you for reading my review.
