☆☆☆☆/5

This kind of reminds me of the first book of Vampire Academy and I can’t really say why without giving pretty much every plot twist away. It’s not exactly the same but it has enough similarities that I thought about VA.

While I’m totally in love with this book, it was rather good. It had just enough intrigue and plot twists that I was roped in and wanted to finish it. Which classes though, it’s just getting a little difficult to finish books as fast as I would like.

It was a little overwhelming with the many supernatural creatures the reader is introduced to, and her constant disregard for her protection got pretty annoying after a while.

It was never boring though, which is probably the reason for all of the critters, to keep the readers interested.

The writing wasn’t really all the impressive but, it was good enough that, although I couldn’t really see the story in my mind, it was a little confusing for that, I could still feel the connections between the characters.

While it still had the “special snowflake” vibe and petty high school drama, it wasn’t as annoying as it usually is. The author didn’t focus on it, it was more like background noise.

This would be a good book for teens looking to venture into the paranormal/supernatural genre, especially if they don’t want any romance and plenty of action. Also good for adults looking to break away from the romance for a bit.

Thank you for reading my review.
