The second book in a trilogy is always a bit tricky. It always seems to have that bridge feeling because it’s leading up to the third book and I can’t say that about a lot of series but, trilogies are the worst in that area because it’s leading up to the third and final book. Only a few times have I read a middle book and loved it as much as the first and I am sad to say that this isn’t one of those times.
Don’t get me wrong, I still loved the book but, after finishing it, I just felt like I got back from a long trip and couldn’t wait to get back into my own bed because this felt like a journey.
Not as many twists and turns in this one, though there is big twist near and at the end that will have your mouth hanging up and needing to find out what happens next.
The journey itself wasn’t bad, it just felt long because of all of the training and planning going on. It’s a little more predictable than the last book, except for the ending, which blew my mind. It is such a surprise and will throw you for a loop
Also, isn’t that cover art amazing? I can’t wait to see what the cover art for the third book will be and I’m eager to read it.
Thank you for reading my review.
