Blurb: Seventeen-year-old Raine Cooper has enough on her plate dealing with her father’s disappearance, her mother’s erratic behavior and the possibility of her boyfriend relocating. The last thing she needs is Torin St. James—a mysterious new neighbor with a wicked smile and uncanny way of reading her.

Raine is drawn to Torin’s dark sexiness against her better judgment, until he saves her life with weird marks and she realizes he is different. But by healing her, Torin changes something inside Raine. Now she can’t stop thinking about him. Half the time, she’s not sure whether to fall into his arms or run.

Scared, she sets out to find out what Torin is. But the closer she gets to the truth the more she uncovers something sinister about Torin. What Torin is goes back to an ancient mythology and Raine is somehow part of it. Not only are she and her friends in danger, she must choose a side, but the wrong choice will cost Raine her life

Review: I’m conflicted about this book and four stars is the highest rating I can give it, it’s not a five star book to me. I struggled between giving it three or four stars but, I decided that I liked it enough to give it that fourth star.

It was full of the high school drama, love triangle, and all that other stuff but, it focused on the plot just enough to keep me interested and turning the pages while also making me cringe a little bit.

It was a little all over the place so I struggled to keep up with it a bit but, it was an alright read. Would I read it again? Maybe, though I’m not really sure.

I feel like if I read it again, I would focus more on the high school drama instead of the actual plot and the value in this book would just go down for me.

I want to go on in the series but…I’m hesitant to do so. I’m on the fence about it because it could go either way from here. It could get so much better or just go down hill and I’m kind of scared to find out. There’s so much potential for this book and yet, it could get very tiresome.

I would probably recommend this to middle or high schoolers, maybe to adults. Give it a try and tell me what you think, weather you loved it, hated it, or are like me and conflicted about it.

Side note, that cover is beautiful in my opinion.

Thank you for reading my review.
